Services:

Assists ex-offenders with AIDS/HIV with housing advocacy, rental and utilities, financial and legal consultations, case management, transportation, nutrition and food, medication adherence, support groups and counseling, crisis intervention. Will refer clients to detox, and for psychological evaluations, substance abuse treatment, and in-hospital treatment for psychiatric problems.

May also assist drug addicts who are not HIV positive. All services within the AIDS Action Committee are confidential and free of charge.

Maintains AIDS Hotline: 617-536-7733 or 800-235-2331 can be reached M-Thurs., 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. Fri. 9 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. The Hotline provides support, information and referrals to anyone with questions or concerns about HIV or AIDS. Hotline volunteers respond to callers who have questions about or are struggling with issues of safer sex, transmission, testing, drug use, taking medications, or caring for someone with HIV, as well as a myriad of other HIV or AIDS related concerns.

Hotline volunteers have quick access to, thousands of up-to-date local and national resources and make appropriate referrals as needed.

Maintains Hepatitis C Hotline: 888-443-HEPC (888-443-4372) - can be reached M-Thurs., 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. Friday 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. The Hotline provides immediate information, support and referrals to anyone with questions or concerns about Hepatitis C.

Service hours:

Office hours: M - F: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Walk-ins are OK.

Requirements / Restrictions:

Must Have AIDS or be HIV+ for services within agency. Hotlines are available to anyone.
