Services:

Cambridge Cares about AIDS (CCA) is a comprehensive city program designed to be sensitive to the diversity of people living with HIV and at risk of infection, especially homeless, women and injection drug users.

CCA provides direct services in the areas of prevention education and housing assistance, and has developed a network for of culturally appropriate services to support the practical, emotional and social needs of their clients. This can include HIV testing and counseling, referrals to medical and mental health providers, substance abuse counseling, employment resources, and case management for any HIV+ individual.

CCA provides a range of transitional and permanent housing options for homeless men and women with HIV/AIDS. The transitional units are at the Cambridge YMCA and Cambridge YWCA. Applicants must have 30 days of clean time if there is an addiction history. Applicants taking methadone are eligible.

Service hours:

M - F: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m

Requirements / Restrictions:

Residents at the Y must sign participation agreements with CCA. Both Y sites are near Central Sq on Red line.
