The Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) clinic connects low-income clients who have questions about their criminal records with volunteer attorneys who can help. Lawyers are able to get you a copy of your CORI, help you understand what’s on it, and seal or expunge your CORI if possible. Specific services include:

  • Free CORI reports and criminal record sealing and expungement.
  • Free legal assistance by Boston Bar Association volunteer lawyers in collaboration with Greater Boston Legal Services.
  • Correction of CORI reports.
  • Advice and some representation on some other CORI related issues.
  • Referrals for warrants.
Service hours

Second and fourth Wednesdays of every month from 9 am to noon (except the fourth Wednesday in December)

Greater Boston Legal Services offers other free CORI help available at: Roxbury Court, 85 Warren Street, Boston (2nd floor) on 3rd Thursday of month from 9 am to noon; Dorchester Court, 510 Washington Street, Dorchester (1st floor) on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays pf the month from 9 am to noon.

Requirements & Restrictions

Free CORI report if at or below 150% poverty guidelines. Eligible for services and free representation in court if within or near 150% of federal poverty guidelines.

Recommended but not required to visit the clinic with a current copy of CORI printed.

Waiting time
Usually none

Interpreters are available for non-English speakers by phone if not in person at the courthouse
