Safe and Sound Recovery Center, part of the Boston Public Health Commission, provides peer-led, outpatient substance use services. Located in Boston, the center’s goal is to support people in their journey to sobriety through various programs, including recovery coaching, support groups, and peer leadership training.

Services:

  • Recovery Coaching & Planning: Personalized support to help individuals develop a tailored plan for recovery.
  • Substance Use Support Groups: The center offers morning AA/NA meetings (Tuesday to Thursday at 9:30 a.m.) and various group therapies, including relapse prevention, mindfulness, anger management, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).
  • Peer Leadership Training: Opportunities for individuals in recovery to learn leadership skills and provide support to others.
  • Individual Counseling & Psychotherapy: One-on-one therapy to address substance use disorders.
  • Spanish Language Groups: Services include groups like Temprana Recuperacion and Grupo de Prevencion de Recaida.
  • Case Management Services: Assistance with connecting to additional services, resources, and care coordination.
  • On-Site Healthcare Services: Access to primary care services, HIV and STI testing, and drug screening if needed.
  • Transportation Assistance: Available for eligible clients.
Service hours

Walk-ins Welcome: No appointment is necessary for enrollment.
Intakes: Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (Wednesday until 1:00 p.m.)
Program Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (Wednesday until 2:00 p.m.)
