The X-CEL Education aims to make high school completion, post-secondary study, and sustainable career paths more accessible to underserved communities in Greater Boston. They provide flexible, customized instruction and career readiness development at no cost in convenient community locations.
Services:
- Pre-HiSET (Formerly GED) Preparation: For individuals who are preparing for the HiSET, but may require additional support. Must be at least 18 years old and have fourth grade reading abilities.
- HiSET (Formerly GED) Preparation: For individuals preparing for the HiSET with math, reading, writing, social studies and science instruction. Must be at least 18 years old and have sixth grade reading abilities.
- College Prep: For individuals that are college-bound who have passed their HiSET exams or have high school diplomas. Prep includes classes on math, reading, writing and computer skills, as well as soft skills such as developing study habits, and managing time effectively.
- Pathways-to-Careers Initiative: Comprehensive education and career support, serving individuals who are unemployed or underemployed and lack a high school credential.
